How to Play Red Dog.

Sometimes the two cards dealt by the dealer are consecutive. In the case of a non-consecutive hand the dealer announces the spread between the two dealt cards. A red Dog is places on the table to indicate the spread between two cards.
When the spread is announced and marked (by the Red Dog), players have to decide whether they want to raise an initial bet or not.
