In the case of a consecutive hand the hand is declared a push and the player is given his original bet back. In the case of a non-consecutive hand the dealer announces the spread between the two dealt cards.
When the spread is announced and marked (by the Red Dog), players have to decide whether they want to raise an initial bet or not.
